Geelong, Victoria, Australia
Geelong Rehabilitation Centre (GRC) was a referral, but not as you might be thinking. Falling is definitely just another way to fly… in my case to fly right into a rock - I have a cliff face to thank. The weight I was carrying was just too much for it and down I plummeted, my left ribcage providing the suitable ‘soft’ landing. The worst part: being the exercise leader who was carried out as a casualty. So I arrived at GRC as a bubble of health.
Life is full of ups and downs… they’re called squats and I hate them. Starting at the basics was hard. I had been reduced to a weak an immobile mess, but gradually with the help of the team I slowly started showing signs of progress. The dream was a plane ticket to Europe and I worked my arse off (literally) to get there! In short, I’ve never seen better personal injury recovery/improvement that my time spent with GRC.
I returned one year later… stronger, fitter, faster and ready to continue my progress whilst back in Australia. James had other plans for me though: marketing a business now supporting three clinics, a team double the size and desperately needing original stock imagery - I was more than happy to help. My squat training continued too.
With any business we always cover the basics: staff portraits, social media content and website imagery but with GRC, we had some extra fun. James was totally down for some photo creativity and hence the X-Men project was born. Adapted from an online image, the team adopted a ‘forever stare’ into my 85mm prime… they key being not to laugh.
Not only was this fun and well received by all the staff, the result now stands as a 22" x 28" poster in reception!
So whether you're in need of rehabilitation, dietetics, remedial massage, chronic disease management or a group program to name just a few (also supported through the NDIS, Work Cover or the TAC), feel free to review GRC in more detail.
